Kosovo
Agroproduct is the only large-scale producer of cultivated and wild-collected organic products in Kosovo.
Thanks to the special work system organised by the company for the collection and cultivation of these plants, the farmers and growers collect and deliver the collected products daily at collection centres set up throughout the territory of Kosovo.
Through this system also the first quality control in the acceptance of products is done, while the preservation of quality is ensured through the drying system with thermal dryers and controlled temperature in which the quality values of the products are stored.
The company currently has 30 Operators, 14 of which are (CCs) Collection Centre (for both cultivated and wild collected products) and 16 Operators for cultivated products only; all of these CCs are equipped with thermal dryers and operate in the same working system as our company. Other than that, AP (Agroproduct) has five (V) certified Zones all over Kosovo for wild-collected products, with a total of 370 contracted collectors spread in all the mentioned areas that work directly with our company only. Our company trains all the mentioned operators.
The company is certified with standards such as EU-Bio 834/2007, Bio Suisse, bi-OS for seeds and seedlings, and the Fair Wild standard. It has also been licensed since 2009 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Kosovo (MAFRD) for the cultivation and collection of plants and forest products.
“Each standard has its own rules, and each standard we add increases the company’s criteria, but of all the standards our company is certified for, FairWild is slowly becoming my favorite one, for many reasons.
Since we are in this business activity, collecting and producing aromatic medicinal plants, we are very related to nature, and all these plants found in our environment are gifts given by nature.
Therefore, the FairWild standard is the most appropriate standard when it comes to respecting the environment, raising opportunities, and equalizing collectors.”
