Zurich, September 2016 – FairWild Foundation is a new nonprofit partner of 1% for the Planet, an alliance of more than 1,000 member companies in 40 countries that give one percent of revenues to environmental causes.

FairWild Foundation is now eligible to receive donations from 1% for the Planet member companies, placing the Swiss charity among a diverse, global network of environmental organizations. 1% member businesses fuel this nonprofit network through their annual contributions.

"1% for the Planet member businesses donate at least 1% of their annual sales to support environmental nonprofits," said Kate Williams, CEO of 1% for the Planet. "We believe deeply that these nonprofits play a critical role in solving the many challenges facing our planet, and our core work is to grow the corporate support that enables these nonprofits to accomplish even more."

Over 3,800 nonprofits worldwide are included in the 1% for the Planet network, and over $145 million has been funnelled to its nonprofit partners to date.

“Medicinal and aromatic plant populations are in decline worldwide, from habitat conversion, over-harvesting and other threats. FairWild Foundation is working with partners and stakeholders to combat this biodiversity loss and erosion of critical natural resources, improving harvest management and livelihoods of some of the poorest in society,” said Bryony Morgan, FairWild Executive Officer. “Donations through the 1% for the Planet alliance can help us greatly in achieving our mission.”

For more information, or to make a donation to FairWild Foundation, please contact the FairWild Secretariat. Organizations and individuals making donations may also be recognized as “Friends of FairWild”.
