FairWild wins Nutrition Business Journal award for Stewardship and Sustainability!
June 2020 - FairWild Foundation this month celebrates becoming the recipient of Nutrition Business Journal’s 2020 “Stewardship and Sustainability” award!
Recognised for our role in ensuring the sustainable management of wild plant populations and the economic sustainability of the people who rely on them, we are proud to receive this award.
Josef Brinckmann, Traditional Medicinals Research Fellow and FairWild Board of Trustees member said:
“Founded in 1996, the Nutrition Business Journal is a leading source of market intelligence and trend data for the American dietary supplement and natural products trade. Being the recipient of the 2019 NBJ Stewardship and Sustainability Award is not only a great honor for the FairWild Foundation but is a strong indicator of the success and reach of the FairWild initiative towards transforming the global production and trade system for wild plants.”
Bill Chioffi of Botanical Consulting International LLC spoke to the need for an independent sustainability standard like FairWild:
“There is a need to ensure quality, protection and sustainability, and that comes from third-party reviews and teams like FairWild.”
As Mark Blumenthal of the American Botanical Council stated in the article announcing our award:
“FairWild certification is not a fad; it is a trend”.
